Kudos to NPR–Really?

“Fair and balanced” is not exactly what comes to mind when you think of National Public Radio. But give credit where credit is due. And Stephen Spruiell of National Review does in today’s NRO post. He applauds the two part, Giant Pool of Money produced by NPR and Chicago Public Radio. The conclusions are not the typical leftist NPR bill of fare: 1. Medical malpractice lawsuits drive up health care costs. 2. Insurance companies are not evil. 3. Our reliance on third-party payers is at the heart of the problem. 4. Obamacare won’t fix the problem! Bravo to NPR for honest analysis and reporting. Hope to see more of it.

The ONLY fair and balanced source does come to mind when I see the letters NPR. The article and your blog confirm my intellectual senses when I read the pejorative language that frames the comments to be anything but fair and balanced. When one fails to recognize their own bias in their words and then purports to comment on others, there is little hope for quality conversation.

Admittedly my bias, Dwight, is toward individual responsibility, hard work, traditional morals and a limited constitutional government. Sadly this is not what Obama, Pelosi, Reid and the ruling elite believe in.

"typical leftist NPR bill of fare" Really? I always thought of NPR as usually somewhat to the right of center.

Certainly NPR is closer to center than most of the MSM, but in my view they fall to the left not the right!
