Who Are The Uninsured?

Thanks to an email this week I learned about the Department of Health and Human Services report on the uninsured. The report analyzes the demographics of the uninsured  by income, age, parental status, race, work status, citizenship and firm size. Admittedly the data from 2005 is aged but the percentages should hold for today. Certainly the 45.8 million of uninsured is the same as Obama is using today for Obamacare.

Just a sampling of the data. We see 62% of the uninsured are younger than 35 and 28% of them have income of over 300% of the poverty level. And is it a surprise that 21% are foreign born non-citizens? One can reasonable conclude that we are going through the Obamacare farce to provide government insurance to a small percent of the population.

The kicker is that this has nothing to do with medical care which is already provided when needed to all citizens at any emergency room. And with deficits for the foreseeable future in excess of $1 Trillion a year piling on debt of $12.2 Trillion on top of unfunded Medicare and Social Security liabilities of $107 Trillion, Obamacare will be the nail in our fiscal coffin.

Thank you Barack Hussein!
