This from the left coast’s San Francisco Chronicle: “White House Credibility Gap on Press Coverage.” WOW, Obama’s own media, in Pelosi’s home town, calling foul? What’s the story?

Seems that a Chronicle reporter took a video of the anointed one with her cell phone during a political fundraising event. Evidently that’s forbidden. So obviously, she must pay the price. Fair enough, rules are rules, she violated them, she gets canned from further coverage of the President.

“The White House communications operation has a credibility problem. On Thursday, key people in that office told The Chronicle in plain language that reporter Carla Marinucci would be banished as a pool reporter for future presidential visits because she shot video of a protest inside an Obama fund-raising event in San Francisco. The White House further threatened “retaliation to Chronicle and Hearst reporters if we reported on the ban,” said Editor Ward Bushee. On Friday, the White House flat-out denied that such exchanges took place.”

Well, you just don’t push the Fourth Estate around that easily. After Josh Earnest told Politico.com that threat was not true, Bushee said in effect, liar liar pants on fire! So, in this “he said, she said” spat between adored and adorer, who’s right?

Or, does that really matter? Where would the Chronicle go if not to the anointed one? The answer is simple, they have no place to go, no one to turn to. They and their comrades put him in and now he’s theirs!

The post concludes with: “In fact, the exclusion of electronic journalists itself represents an overbearing attempt by the Obama White House to control what the public sees and hears of presidential visits. The ability to cover the president with 21st century reporting tools should not be subject to White House whims.”

Seems the Chronicle and its MSM fellow travelers should have asked about Obama whims long ago.

Democrat Michael Copps of the FCC wants to impose a “public welfare test” on broadcasters forcing upon them “a renewed commitment to serious news and journalism,” according to today’s IBD editorial, A Tyrant’s Thinking!

Recall that the Communists to complete the takeover of a country needed to control the media and the universities. Copps, a good student, has learned the Communist lesson. Here’s a guy that has sucked at the public teat all his life, never known a real job, and in a brief foray into private life worked in government relations.

He is the perfect leftist liberal, a member of the governing elite that fits in the Obama, Reid, Pelosi cabal. Besides wanting to control news content, he is a strong advocate of “net-neutrality.” That is the concept where content providers can expropriate bandwidth from carriers who have invested heavily in it.

This guy’s positions are right in line with this leftist administration. He opposes the First Amendment’s freedom of speech and the Fifth/Fourteenth Amendments’ freedom from unjust takings.

We need to fear for our nation when unelected bureaucrats like this have the power they have.

I’m from the “show me” state, the state that led the nation in so called “reform” of judicial selection. The “Missouri Plan” became the model for many states. That type plan is now being put to the Nevada voters. You’ve probably seen the commercials in favor of this plan with Sandra Day O’Cconner.

Did you know that those commercials were funded by the rent-seeking leftist, George Soros. This billionaire who counts Obama as his employee is left of Stalin. But because of his leftist political connections in power, Obama being one, is a multi-billionaire. (Study his Brazil oil intersts!) So he can afford to give a measly two million to NPR with strings attached to cover state progressive issues. You see, the progressives have decided that they don’t quite own the judiciary in this country. They are free to make political deals, money deals, with the legislative and executive branches, but they don’t quite have the judges, yet!

How could they better do that but by making the process secret? How better than to sell secrecy to the public but by letting knowledgeable TRIAL LAWYERS recommend those to be selected?

In my earlier days I practiced trial and appellate law in Missouri, was legally licensed in California, and as a layman was chairman of Nevadians Judicial Information Committee. In that latter role I was often asked about judicial selection processes. My answer was that the public election process while not perfect was at least public. That is, it is not secret.

Contrary to their opinions of themselves, lawyers are not smarter than everyone else. They are not above the law. What they know about judicial selection they should inform the public of. In fact, they do, there are public judicial evaluation studies which bar associations publish at election time.

Today’s WSJ post on the Soros role on the issue, Soros Bets on Nevada, is worth the read. Its concluding line: “Nevada voters should send a message that their judiciary can’t be bought.”

Now, I don’t want anyone to think that George Soros is not smart. His media voice, NPR, fired Juan Williams today for no apparent reasonable reason, but for getting out of line with the liberal agenda. Soros knows where the power is. Who can fault him for his rent-seeking behavior. He, even better than Al Gore and his environmentalists, has profited from his knowledge. And, he has made billions by investing wisely, IN POLITICIANS!

I watched the O’Reilly Factor last evening including the discussion of the Muslim role in 9/11. Juan Williams the liberal panelists who presents the devil advocate view on O’Reilly’s conservative program commented that while not a bigot his anxiety level increased when fellow passengers dressed in muslim garb and thereby identified themselves first and foremost as muslims.

Today NPR, the taxpayer funded leftist voice of the Democratic elite, fired Juan Williams. This after public urging by a muslim organization. Here’s today’s news item:

These leftist believe in the First Amendment only when it suits them. They should not be funded with taxpayer dollars. THIS IN NO LEGITIMATE ROLE FOR THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

WikiLeaks is anonymous. No identified founders. No manager. No nuthin! Oh, there the is that cute little fop, Julian Asuange who describes himself as being on the WikiLeaks advisory board. He recently released Pentagon files, heretofore secret, on the war in Afghanistan. As a result according to Defense Secretary Gates, the lives of our troops and our Afghan partners are in danger.

This is not a case of “loose lips sink ships;” this an intentional broadcast of secret information while the country is at war. The military traitor should get military justice.

But the rub is the self important Julian Assnage and his co-conspirators in the New York Time, the Guardian and Der Spiegel, the so-called responsible press. In the NYT case, it’s printing all the news “fit to print”

As Tony Blankley points out in his “Wiki Espionage” post their conduct is a clear violation of the Espionage Act (Title 18 U.S. Code, Section 794). Opposition to the war cannot justify treason.

“If Mr. Assange had perpetrated this outrage against Russia, inevitably there would be a news report a few month later announcing the death of Mr. Assange and his loved ones (should he have any) because of an unlikely street accident. Thank goodness we live in nation of laws — not of executive actions.

“But the rule of law will not last long if the law is not used to avenge grievous wrongs committed against our nation.

“It is the high duty of our government not to let Mr. Assange walk free (assuming the evidence in court of his espionage is as convincing as the news accounts suggest). Let the federal prosecutions proceed — wiki, wiki.”

The conceit, self aggrandizement, and above-the-law attitude of the NYT is appalling.

Journal-Gate Big Time: Investors Business Daily posted a hot editorial yesterday, The Smoking Gun For Media Bias. It exposes the secret list of main stream media conspirators maintained by the Washington Post. The conspiracy is to distort the news, protect and promote leftist progressive agendas and advocates, like Hussein Obama.

“Some of its media members and participants: WaPo’s Ezra Klein and David Weigel. Spencer Ackerman of the Washington Independent. Ryan Donmoyer of Bloomberg. Time, Politico, the Huffington Post, the Baltimore Sun, the Guardian, Salon, and the New Republic. In all there are about 400 members, a veritable who’s who of the left-wing journalistic pseudo intellectuals!

They plotted to protect Hussein from the ill effects of Reverend Wright’s preaching hatred for America. They plotted to characterize the Tea Party as Nazi. They continually plot to push socialism and leftists causes.

“Some comments are just plain hateful. Sarah Spitz, a National Public Radio producer, wrote about what she’d do if she saw conservative radio talk host Rush Limbaugh stricken with a heart attack: “Laugh loudly like a maniac and watch his eyes bug out.”. Nice, And remember, you pay part of her salary through taxes.”

“When the debate turns to Fox TV, Journolisters become positively unhinged, recommending that the full power and force of the federal government be used to shut up the one network that dares to present center-right viewpoints in its programming.

“UCLA law professor Jonathan Zasloff asked on Journolist: “I hate to open this can of worms, but is there any reason why the FCC couldn’t simply pull their broadcasting permit once it expires?”

“Yes, “professor,” there is a reason: It’s the First Amendment.”

As the editorial points out, truth is abandon in favor of political activism. This expose’ is a must read.

Sadly disappointing news that Comedy Central backed down to death threats against “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone and bleeped an episode warning against “intimidation and fear” by Islamic fanatics who were offended by the show. Heretofore the network has stood behind nearly all the over-the-top satire despite protests and calls for boycotts.

But where Islam and the prophet Mohammed is concerned, the First Amendment’s guarantees of Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the Press no longer apply.

Even sadder that the supposedly “fair and balanced” Bill O’Reilly questioned the creator’s judgement in writing and producing the piece. Towel-heads have Bill a bit unbalanced perhaps. See Diana West’s Media Leave “South Park” Creators Out to Dry in Real Clear Politics.

The conclusions of the New York Post article, Cowardly Central are appropriate here: As UCLA law professor Eugene Volokh noted, the consequence of Comedy Central kowtowing to a blatant death threat “is that the thugs win and people have more incentive to be thugs. Behavior that gets rewarded gets repeated.” Alas, regarding radical Islam, the behavior that “gets rewarded” is murder — Exhibit A: Theo Van Gogh. Revolution Muslim may be little more than a couple of Queens cranks with Web access — but who’s willing to take a chance on that? Not Comedy Central, that’s for sure. And until the West decides — culturally and collectively — not to take it any longer, it’s only going to get worse.

“Land of the Free and home of the Brave?” No, not at all. We have already been conquered by “fear and intimidation!” Practice your Sharia law, you attorneys, because before long that’s what will govern us.

Howell Raines, no relation to Franklin Raines the former Fannie Mae CEO, takes on Fox News today in his WaPo post, Why don’t honest journalists take on Roger Ailes and Fox News? This is the MSM at its expected best! The Fourth Estate unto itself! Raines can’t cotton to anyone who looks into the contents of the koolaid Obama is trying to get us to drink. Adulation of Obama continues unabated at the Washington Post.

But in this St. Pat’s day week, Bill O’Reilly as might be expected has his Irish up!

Fun stuff with two different forms of modern media. Thank God for the internet. News is no longer confined to the Fourth Estate!
